The situation

Where they started.

The client sells high-dollar add-ons that change the look of a home, on a search where Home Depot and Menards hold page one. They came to us after a previous SEO company’s archaic techniques had put the site on a downward trend. After eight months we had turned the ship around, without disavowing links. With branded and “.com” searches left out, non-branded keywords grew sharply, and the client’s goal value went from roughly $22,708 to $50,385: a 121.88% increase.

What we did

  1. 01

    Diagnosed the decline

An algorithmic drop, not a manual penalty, caused by the previous company’s outdated link tactics.

  2. 02

    Turned it around cleanly

We stopped the downward trend in eight months without disavowing links.

  3. 03

    Went after non-branded searches

With brand and “.com” searches left out, non-branded keywords grew sharply.

  4. 04

    Flagged the website

The site dated back to 2002 and converted poorly: we advised a redesign to turn the new traffic into sales.
